Student Code of Conduct
The student code of conduct has been established to help students maintain high standards of behavior and to sustain the most positive environment for learning. Students are expected to:
  1. Obey all local, state and federal laws.
  2. Respect all other students' rights to learn and to be safe.
  3. Respect the professional authority of all staff members and comply with classroom policies and rules.
  4. Treat all persons with respect; refrain from racial, ethnic, or gender slurs.
  5. Carry a current university high school identification card at all times and a signed, dated hall pass when permitted to leave classroom.
  6. Abstain from the use or possession of drugs, alcohol, or any other illegal substance.
  7. Attend all classes daily unl.ess they are ill.
  8. Be in tiieir seats and prepared to work when the bell rings.
  9. Bring all necessary materials and supplies to class daily.
  10. Care for all books, supplies, and equipment issued by the school.
  11. Complete all homework and class work assignments.
  12. Take responsibility for understanding assignments, directions, and explanations given.
  13. Refrain from any form of cheating, including plagiarizing.
  14. Remain on campus during school hours unless given specific authorization by the attendance office to leave campus.
  15. Refrain from eating in the hallways at any time and loitering in the hallways.
  16. Keep the school free of trash and graffiti and respect school property.
  17. Refrain from gang activity, wearing gang attire, or using gang signs.
  18. Refrain from uncouth, disruptive, or obscene language and behavior.
  19. Refrain from wearing any items of clothjng or jewelry that promote the use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.
  20. Refrain from exchanges of goods, money, or services for personal gain such as gambling and unauthorized sales.
  21. Maintain the safety of the campus by not bringing weapons or dangerous objects to school.
  22. Wear only official university high school hats on campus and remove them when entering classrooms.
  23. Refrain from bringing personal audio equipment or cellular phones to school. Students may bring cellular phones with parental consent for emergency purposes only, but may not use them during class time or passing periods. Students must secure cellular phones at all times. If students use a cellular phone in an inappropriate manner, it will be confiscated and a parent will have to pick it up. Students who use cellular phones to create mischief will be in danger of being suspsended or transferred to another school. Personal audio equipment may be used before and after school only and must be packed away during the school day. The school will not be responsible for lost or stolen cellular phones or personal audio equipment.
