Mr. Estrada

Mr. Estrada

Mr. Estrada has been a Special Education teacher for more than a decade.  He is a Uni Alumni, C/O '85. His educational career has taken him from Uni; Santa Monica College; UCLA; CSUN; Loyola Marymount University, where he obtained a Baccalaureate Degree in History, and National University. 

Today, Mr. Estrada continues to teach Special Education.  He is also a staff member of the School of Business and Law. 

This academic year, Mr. Estrada will be teaching the following:

 

                 United States History  A/B

 

                 Government/Economics

 

                 Contemporary Composition

 

                 World History A/B

 

 

 

****A word of caution about CELLPHONES and electronic devises in the classroom: Any and all Cell Phones and electronic devices confiscated for LAUSD Policy violations, will be retained for a period of 5 school days, not including weekends.

Classroom Standards and Requirements

CLASS REQUIREMENTS

  1. Attendance is mandatory to pass the class.
  2. Bring pencils and notebook paper to class everyday, and come prepared to do work
  3. Your notebook will contain all the assigned work in an organized manner, and at the end of the term it will be graded.
  4. School rules an classroom rules will be enforced.

 

GRADING SYSTEM

            25%   Attendance and punctuality.

            25%    Classwork and homework   (Notebook)

            25%    Class participation and preparation.

            25%    Quizzes and tests.

 

SCALE:

            90 – 100     =       A

            80 – 89                  =       B

            70 – 79                  =       C

            60 – 69       =       D

            Bellow 60   =       Fail.

  1. Homework will be collected at the beginning of the period.  Daily assignments at the end of the period.
  2. Quizzes and tests are given to check your progress.

 

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UP WORK

  1. Absences  =   Zero points for the day.
  2. Tardies     =    Less points for the day.
  3. Missed work due to unexcused absences CANNOT be made-up.
  4. All make up work MUST be turned in within three days.

  1. Ready to do work.
  2. Enter class on time.
  3. Sit quietly.
  4. Perform to the best of your abilities.
  5. Engage in classroom Discussion.
  6. Communicate in appropriate language.
